Privacy Policy

Last updated:

What information HUNTME Marketplace collects, why we collect it, what is public, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are and what this covers

This Privacy Policy explains how HUNTME (“we”, “us”) handles personal information when you use HUNTME Marketplace at marketplace.huntmegroup.com and its related features (the “Marketplace”). It should be read with our Terms of Service.

Other HUNTME products have their own pages and may handle data differently. Sign-in to the Marketplace runs through a HUNTME account that can be shared across HUNTME products.

2. Information we collect

What we collect depends on how you use the Marketplace.

  • Account information. Your name, email address, password or sign-in credentials (handled by the HUNTME account service), email verification status and account role.
  • Profile and company details. Optional or required details such as phone number, city, state, ZIP code, country, company name and logo, MC and DOT numbers, bio, website, social or Telegram handles and a profile photo. Providers add some of these when they set up their account.
  • Listings and uploads. Everything you put in a listing: title, description, features, pricing information, photos, a preview video, and the contact phone, email or Telegram you choose to show.
  • Messages and notifications. Messages you send and receive in the Marketplace, and the notifications we create for you.
  • Payments and credits.Your credit balance, invoices, purchase history and payment status. Card and bank details are entered on the payment provider’s own checkout page, and we do not store full card numbers.
  • Activity. Services you save, listing views and contact reveals, search queries (including Hunter AI queries) and filters you use.
  • Technical and analytics data. Data such as your browser, device, pages visited, and approximate location derived from your connection, collected when you use the site and by Google Analytics (see Cookies and local storage).
  • Messages to us. Whatever you tell us when you contact us, for example on Telegram.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • create and secure your account and sign you in;
  • run the Marketplace: publish and display listings, connect buyers and providers, deliver messages and notifications, show you saved services and your own listing statistics;
  • process purchases, activate listings and keep records of credits and invoices;
  • answer search queries and power features such as Hunter AI search and comparisons;
  • promote listings, including by posting them in the HUNTME public Telegram channel;
  • review provider set-up submissions and moderate listings and reports;
  • measure how the Marketplace is used, fix problems and improve it;
  • prevent fraud, spam and abuse, keep the Marketplace secure, and comply with legal obligations.

4. What is public

  • Listingsare public to everyone, including search engines: the title, description, features, pricing information, photos, video, category, and the provider’s public company profile (such as company name, logo and location).
  • Contact details on a listing(phone, email, Telegram) are not included in the public page; they are shown to a signed-in user who chooses “Reveal”. We count each reveal.
  • Telegram posts. When a listing is published we post a summary of it, with a link, in the HUNTME public Telegram channel, where anyone can read, share and copy it.
  • Messages, saved services and account settings are private to your account and the people you are messaging.

Only put in a listing what you are happy to make public.

5. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it with:

  • Other users, as described above: listing content, revealed contact details and messages you send.
  • Payment providers, such as Stripe and Click, which process payments for credits and listings. They receive what is needed to complete the payment and tell us whether it succeeded; their own privacy policies apply.
  • Hosting and storage providers that run the Marketplace and store uploaded files, including cloud storage such as Amazon Web Services (S3) for images.
  • Google Analytics, which receives usage data about how the site is used.
  • Telegram, where listing summaries are posted. Once something is on Telegram it is governed by Telegram’s terms and privacy policy too.
  • Authorities and advisers where required by law or needed to protect rights, safety and security, and any successor if the Marketplace is transferred to another business.

Some of these providers operate globally, so information may be processed in countries other than your own.

6. Cookies and local storage

We use a small number of cookies and browser storage entries:

  • Sign-in.Your sign-in tokens are kept in your browser’s local storage, which we use to keep you signed in and send authenticated requests. A cookie called huntme_auth_hint holds a simple “signed in” flag for up to 30 days so pages can load in the right state; it does not contain your credentials.
  • Preferences and progress. Local storage remembers things such as your light or dark theme, list or grid view, listing drafts autosaved on your device, onboarding tour progress and dismissed notices.
  • Session storage. Temporary entries in your tab, for example to avoid counting the same listing view twice, to return you to where you were after signing in, and to finish a payment after you come back from checkout.
  • Analytics.Where enabled, Google Analytics sets its own cookies to measure usage. You can block these through your browser settings or Google’s opt-out tools.

You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser at any time. Doing so signs you out and removes saved drafts and preferences.

7. How long we keep information

We keep information for as long as your account is active and as long as we need it to run the Marketplace, resolve disputes, prevent abuse and meet legal, accounting and tax obligations. When we no longer need it, we delete or anonymise it. Some records, such as payment and invoice history, may be kept longer where the law requires.

8. Your choices and rights

You can see and update much of your information yourself in your account profile and settings, and delete listings you posted. You can also ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is wrong;
  • delete your account and personal information;
  • stop certain uses of your information, where the law gives you that right.

Account deletion can be requested from the “Delete account” option in your account settings or through the contact details below. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we may keep what the law requires us to keep. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, for example keeping contact details out of public page source until revealed and using payment providers’ hosted checkout. No online service can be completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and keep your sign-in details private.

10. Children

The Marketplace is a business service and is not meant for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Marketplace changes. We will change the “Last updated” date at the top and, for significant changes, take reasonable steps to let you know.

12. Contact
